Lamb’s Players Theater and the US Grant Hotel presented the annual An American Christmas:  A 1916 Feast & Celebration.  Barbara J. Menard and Jim Ogilvie attended on Tuesday, December 20, 2016.  The evening is a Feast and Celebration with the “Marshall Family.”  Deborah Gilmour Smyth is the hostess and matriarch of the family which includes singers and actors portraying Marshall family members and friends including several children.  Grace before dinner is sung and the events of 1916 are recounted before each course.  There was a Medley of 1916 popular songs including: “Play a Simple Melody” by Irving Berlin; “Danny Boy” by Weatherly/Londonderry Air; and WWI favorites “Pack up your Troubles,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” There were Christmas songs and a fond farewell with “Now the Feast if Over.”
