Catholic Theological Union’s annual Trustee Dinner was a virtual celebration on Wednesday, April 28,
2021. Hosted by CTU friend and award winning journalist Carol Marin, the evening included
congratulations by Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, Governor J. B. Pritzker, and CTU President Sr.
Barbara Reid, OP. Cardinal Blasé J. Cupich, Bishop of the Archdiocese of Chicago offered an opening
prayer and Catherine O’Connell sang musical selections. The Blessed are the Peacemakers Award was
presented to Anthony Fauci, MD and Christine Grady, RN, PhD. They were honored as an exemplary
married couple for their extraordinary service as courageous healers and public servants, and their
unyielding dedication to the common good. Several of their closest colleagues and friends shared
experiences of working alongside Dr. Fauci and Dr. Grady. Three graduates of CTU who currently
serve as Chaplains spoke of their experiences during the COVID-19 crisis. Winners of the Raffle Prizes
were announced and the evening ended with song.
