Donors of the newly opened Cristo Rey San Diego High School were treated to a luncheon prepared by the parents of some of the students, followed by updates from several of the student scholars discussing their decision to attend Cristo Rey and their experience working as an employee at various job sites around the city. After the presentation, attendees were given a tour of the school, which is located on the grounds of St. Jude’s Church and Shrine in East San Diego. Donors have assisted with funds to resurface the ball field, expand the computer lab and create a chemistry lab. Director Barbara Menard participated in the early discussions and planning for the school and Menard Family Foundation funds one of the students attending the school as well as contributing to the enhancements at the campus.
