Members of the Menard Family Foundation gathered as sponsors of the 34th Annual Children’s Charity Gala. The theme of “Up, Up & Away” was carried out throughout the décor of the beautiful U. S. Grant Hotel. The evening began with Cocktails & Silent Auction with numerous auction prizes. Dinner and the live auction was held in the ballroom with Branidi Williams, L.A. Correspondent for DailyMail TV and former anchor for KUSI News. A former resident of the Village, who experienced years of homelessness, shared his moving story and some if the children were present to share. The Father Joe’s Villages Award was given to Mr. Franklin Antonio, one of the co-founders of Qualcomm. The Founder’s Award was bestowed upon James Mulvaney, Sr. and The Mulvaney Family. The Bishop Maher Award was given to students from both Cathedral Catholic High School and Saint Augustine High School. The evening concluded with dancing to the sounds of Atomic Groove.
