Directors Barbara J. Menard and Marlene Miller represented the Menard Family Foundation at the Ignatian Volunteer Corps 2013 Della Strada Award and Fund Raiser on April 7, 2013.  The afternoon honored philanthropists Terrence and Barbara Caster and the Caster Family with the Della Strada Award named after Santa Maria della Strada, the first church that St. Ignatius Loyola and the early Jesuits used to serve the urban poor in the center of Rome.  The award honors lives that reflect the Ignatian values of direct service to the poor, and of working and educating for a more just society.  Rev. Bob Fambrini, SJ was the recipient of the St. Francis Xavier Award.  Fr. Fambrini is in his eighth and final year as pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Barrio Logan, San Diego.  The St. Francis Xaxier Award is granted to a member of the Society of Jesus or Jesuit Lay Partner who exemplifies his idealism and spirit of willingness to go wherever sent to fulfill the apostolic mission in the Ignatian tradition.
