Directors Catherine Scanlon and Barbara Menard attended the 17th Annual Morning Glory Brunch at St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center.  The morning included unveiling SMSC’s new Lifetime Giving Donor Wall in the Center’s main lobby that includes an plaque for the Menard Family Foundation. The proceeds from the Morning Glory Brunch support the funding of St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center programs:  Organic Garden and the Aquatics Program.  In the Organic Garden, horticulture students have the opportunity to learn propagation methods, plant seeds, nurture growth, and learn customer service.  By working in the garden, the students gain skills that improve their daily lives, and allow them to branch out as important contributors to the greater community.  Students of the Aquatics Program are provided a safe and supervised aquatic environment that focuses on fun recreational fitness.  The classes provide the students with improved balance and coordination, joint range of motion, cardiovascular conditioning, and muscle conditioning.  They learn that a weekly exercise program will help them reduce stress, enhance self confidence, and improve their physical health.
