Marlene Miller and Barbara Menard joined friends Rita McClurg and her sister Mary Chaparro at the 18th Annual Morning Glory Brunch at St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center. This event features: musical entertainment; bites and beverage tastings; boutique shopping; and artist village with three featured artists. There was a cooking demonstration by Executive Chef Josef Felts of Green Dragon Tavern followed by the opportunity drawing and arts alive auction. The highlight of the event is the Frog Race in the beautiful Olympic-size pool, and who doesn’t enjoy a great Frog Race! Students from St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center act as the water wave and two human frogs assist these plastic creatures to move toward the finish line bringing monetary prizes to the lucky winners. SMSC student artists are featured in the Arts Alive portion of the brunch. Many local food and beverage vendors provided the tastings in both the upper and lower gardens and there were musical entertainers on three stages. A warm Spring day added to the pleasure of this lovely event.
