The Menard Family Foundation is again assisting in the sponsorship for the 43rd Annual Mercy Ball to be held on March 8, 2014 at the Grand Del Mar Hotel in Del Mar. The Patron Party was hosted by Mercy Ball Chair Lois and Dr. Bill Stanton and was held at the Darlington House in La Jolla, CA. Director Barbara Menard and Jim Ogilvie were in attendance. The Darlington House is owned and operated by Social Service League of La Jolla, a nonprofit, public benefit corporation. The mission of the many generous volunteers is to provide housing and meal support to seniors who have lived and worked in the San Diego area. The organization began assisting seniors during the Great Depression. In 1968 the League purchased the Darlington House from the estate of Mrs. Herbert (Sibyl) Darlington and was able to complete their mission of adding 17 additional units to League House. The Patron Party included a tour of the property and entertainment provided by The Leon Matthews Duo.
