San Diego Zoo Global President’s Ambassadors, President’s Patrons and President’s Partners gathered at the Zoofari Party Area on Sunday, February 12, 2017 for a dinner buffet and update on some of San Diego Zoo Global’s conservation efforts.  Barbara J. Menard and Jim Ogilvie visited with Zoo Development staff including Mark Stuart and Amy Parrott.  San Diego Zoo Director Dwight Scott welcomed the attendees and gave a brief update on the Africa Rocks project.  The main speaker for the evening David O’Conner shared his work in Kenya with Elephants and Giraffes.  San Diego Zoo Global has partnered with a zoo in Kenya to protect the Elephants who are endangered because of drought, poaching for ivory, and encroachment by humans.
