With the theme “Celebrating Our History” the 48th Annual Scripps Mercy Ball was held on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Menard Family Foundation, a Patron Sponsor for the evening, contributed to this beautiful event. Beginning with a Reception with beverages and hors d’oeuvres, the program moved into the Ballroom of the Manchester Grand Hyatt for a Welcome by Scripps Corporate Senior Vice President, Regional Chief Executive-South Tom Gammiere and Senior Director of Development, Scripps Mercy Hospital Foundation Mary Ball. Bishop John Dolan led the blessing followed by the surf and turf dinner. This year the Mercy Ball honored Richard P. Woltman and his family for their decades of support and leadership for Scripps Mercy Hospital. The beneficiary of the funds raised by the Mercy Ball are the cancer support services on the Scripps Mercy Hospital campus. Many of these services will be housed in the historic College of Nursing building as a complement to the clinical excellence which will be available through Scripps MD Anderson Cancer Center/Prebys Cancer Center. The college building will be renamed the Woltman Family College Building.
