The captivating book, “Good Company: The Story of Scripps Health and Its People,” written by Sarita Eastman, was presented at the annual Scripps Heritage Circle and Mercy McCauley Heritage Circle dinner on June 7, 2012. Barbara J. Menard attended the event and heard the description of how Scripps Health grew as San Diego expanded. The commitment of Ellen Browning Scripps and Mother Mary Michael Cummings to provide for the health care needs of a growing community has led to the Scripps Health of 2012, a health care system with hospitals and clinics throughout the region. As well as showcasing the renowned personalities who created Scripps, the book also depicts the connection between the story of Scripps and the history of San Diego.
