The Alumnae/I of the Sacred Heart in San Diego were invite to a virtual Lenten Reflection on Saturday,
February 27, 2021. The morning began with the annual Alumnae of the Sacred Heart Business
Meeting and introduction of the new Board members. Sr. Carolyn Osiek, RSCJ presented on St.
Madeleine Sophie’s Prayer with Scripture. She discussed several of Madeleine Sophie’s favorite
Scripture passages and who these were influential in her life. Sr. Osiek was a Professor of New
Testament at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and was a professor of Director Barbara
Menard. She currently serves as the provincial archivist of the Society of the Sacred Heart, United
States-Canada Province and is co-author of the complete writings of St. Philippine Duchesne. She is
also a member of the Board of Trustees at the University of San Diego.
